The process of embossing copper is the technique of creating designs in the metal through stamping, piercing, folding or hammering. You will create a 9x9 design to finish as you wish-either you can frame or mount on barn wood, apply to a book cover or any application of your choice. The second class will be for details, finishing and adding darkening patina or colorful waxes to finish your piece. Location: 155 Front St, Farmington Fee: $45 $10 material fee Paid to instructor

A day to explore hammering copper in the shop. Materials and tools provided for 2-3 projects. Project will be: copper s hook, a bracelet/bangle. Something to get you familiar with the process, exploring the material and how it moves. Eye protection and ear protection are required. Wear cotton, canvas, wool or denim. No poly, fleece, or synthetic materials or stretch pants. Leather shoes required. No nylon tennis shoes. Hair must be pulled back and up completely. Cross-stitch is a simple style of embroidery with a range of possibilities. You’ll learn the foundational steps, tips, and tricks for cross-stitching while working on a sweet Spring-themed design. We’ll even use some of the beautiful hand dyed, over dyed threads that are now available and talk about how to use them vs regular threads. When you enroll in the class, please indicate whether you are a beginner or have experience stitching. If you are a non-beginning stitcher wanting to learn how to stitch on linen, please indicate that.

Drawing class includes live drawing, working with and without a grid, shading values, enlarging and reducing.  A variety of subject matter including observation of shapes and angles.  Please bring drawing paper, pencils, eraser, ruler, stump or tortillion oil and water color.  Students need to bring a small set of tube paint, a few brushes (large & small) and bristle brushes for oils, watercolor brushes should be for watercolor painting and watercolor paper, canvas for oil painting and painting medium.  Also, bring paper towels or paint rags for oil or watercolor.

The Emergency Medical Technician program provides students with necessary skills to respond to emergency calls, to provide efficient and immediate care to critically injured persons, and to transport patients to a medical facility. Students receive instruction in anatomy and physiology and patient assessment. Students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to take the National Registry Exam for Emergency Medical Technicians. The course includes a 12-hour clinical rotation in an emergency department and a 12-hour ride-along with an ambulance service.

Maybe you’ve been hearing about essential oils and are surious, or maybe you just like finding ways to make gifts for others and things to use at home for yourself. Whether it’s either, both or neigher but you like to have fun, we’ll have a casual get together that willb e fun and informative, too! Learn about essential oils, how they’re made(don’t worry, we won’t get too science-y!) and all the ways they can be used, from making our houses smell good to replacing health and beauty products to supporting our physical and emotional health(because, as we know, the emotions --stress is a great example--can affect our physical health, too!) We’ll een cover the use of essential oils with and around our pets because they’re part of the family.
