This basic fly tying course is designed to introduce the beginning fly tyer to the methods, materials, and tools used in this most enjoyable hobby. It is the aim of the instructor to teach you at least 2 different flies per session. We will start off with some basic, simple streamer flies and advance to more complex patterns as the course progresses. You will receive instructions on such flies as the Red and White, Mickey Finn, Wardens Worry and a little history on the origin of these and other time honored flies. Nothing beats the thrill of catching a fish on a fly you, yourself, have tied! The instructor will provide “kits”, at a nominal cost ($2.00- $5.00), consisting of materials such as hooks, feathers, tinsel, chenille, etc. for those that need them. From these kits you will be able to tie at least 6 flies of the patterns we will be tying each session. That translates to at least sixteen patterns and a total of at least ninetysix flies for the entire course. Although this is a beginning tying course, all skill levels are more than welcome. Contact the instructor for a list of needed equipment and supplies and places to purchase them. Contact info 207-578- 0028 or Fee: $60 Material Fee - $5.00
