50 hour course will train you to provide daily living care to older adults and individuals with disabilities. You could be the difference between someone getting to stay in their home or going to a nursing home. Other options for employment include local care facilities.
REQUIREMENTS: 17 years and older, pass state background check, updated vaccinations including COVID 19. No high school diploma required.
Class will be held after in the Spring of 2023, if we have enough students.

Looking for in meaningful work? Children’s behavioral health services are vital to Maine’s Children with intellectual disabilities, autism and mental health disorders and their families. As an integral part of the child’s treatment team, a Certifi d Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential. We are excited to connect our community with this wonderful ONLINE training and certifi ate program. Th s training will prepare you for employment through local social service agencies and equip you to work with children who qualify for services. Th s program can be started at any time and fin shed at your own pace. You will complete 12 online modules, then three 4-hour live (in-person) sessions. Once the modules are completed, you will receive free online blood borne pathogen training and Child and Adult First Aid& CPR Certifi ation. In just 40 hours, our free remote training program can get you certifi d and on your way to a life changing profession. Must be a Maine resident, and at least 18 years old with a high school diploma (or equivalent) to beome certifi d. CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA)

The 130 hour Certified Nursing Assistant Course is designed to prepare the student to be a Nursing Assistant. Call the Adult Ed Office at 778-3460 for an application, registration requirements and placement on a waiting list. CERTIFIED REGIDENTIAL MEDICATION AIDE (CRMA)

This is a 40 hour course with 5 training sessions. This course will cover State of Maine regulations, some standard residential facility policies, basic anatomy and physiology of the human body, common medications in the majority of drug classes, and the practice of safe medication administration procedures. Additionally, participants will be provided the opportunity to practice taking vital signs, transcribing physician orders, administering medications in the classroom setting and completing medication cards/worksheets or some other type of learning tool. Assessments required. *Recertification is required every 2 years
