WOODWORKING

This class is designed for both beginners and or experienced woodworkers. The instructor will help students design projects and establish materials needed durig first class. Students will provide their own material (It can be delivered to the shop if needed) You will learn the safe and correct use of various wood working machines and accomplish a desired project. 

AKC CANINE GOOD CITIZEN GROUP CLASS

The purpose of the CGC program is to ensure that our favorite companion, the dog, can be a respeted member of the community because it has been trained to be well behaved in the home, public places, and in the precense of other dogs. The CGC program welcomes both purebred and mixed breed dogs. The CGC test is non competitive and dogs are not required to preform with the same precision required in formal obediance. 

Required vaccines: Distemper, Rabies, Bordatella 

Need to send in paperwork with proof of vaccines before 1st class

BIRCH TREE WATERCOLOR

Birch trees are the most rewarding and therefore fun trees to paint. You will explore birches in different seasons and settings. You will learn basic watercolor technique. 

The instructor will provide watercolors to use but if you like, you are encouraged to bring your own materials

WRITING FICTION AND NON FICTION

This workshop offers both, along with seminars on such topics as finding inspiration, performing research, organizing one’s ideas, using words powerfully and approaching publishers. The group leader, Dr. Thomas M. Kane, has published 27 books and has extensive experience teaching writing.

BOOTCAMP FOR WORKING WITH CHILDREN

PRESERVING THE HARVEST

Ever wonder how to preserve and use all of that great locally-grown produce? University of Maine Cooperative Extension food preservation workshops will teach you the basics of canning and freezing, including how to use pressure canners and water bath canners to preserve pickles, jam, and vegetables. Workshops are taught by UMaine Extension Master Food Preserver Volunteers.

Material Fee: $20 Paid to instructor at first class

SENIOR YOGA

Senior yoga is a gentle yoga class for both the novice and the experienced yogi. Attention is given to making adaptations for an aging body and there is an emphasis on balance. A yoga mat is required . A yoga block and strap is helpful but not required. Participants should be able to get down on the floor and back up without assistance.
